Freddie Robinson completes Coast to Coast bike ride in support of YAMND

Freddie Robinson, 14, from Oulston had persuaded his elder brother Charlie to join him on a fund raising bike ride “beach to beach” from Morecambe to Scarborough totalling over 130 miles.

Freddie decided to raise money for York and District Against Motor Neurone Disease (YAMND) who provide practical help for MND patients and their families. They offer care and support for victims and their families and also provide information about this devastating illness.

In February of this year, a local friend Mrs Rosey Tigar unfortunately died due to Motor Neurone Disease and he decided to do this in her memory and has arranged a “Just Giving” website where people can donate.

Freddie said before setting out on his adventure “This will be a very challenging ride as we have never done anything like this before and it is a very long way – I look forward to an ice cream when we arrive in Scarborough!”

Freddie and Charlie completed the cycle ride and raised over £600 for YAMND ,a fantastic achievement.
Thank you Freddie you are a star. Good luck in completing the rest of your Duke of Edinburgh award .
