York and District against Motor Neurone Disease is an independent charity (# 1000356) founded in 1989 to provide practical help for MND patients and their families.
We offer practical and emotional support for victims and their families and also provide information about this devastating illness.
we operate in York and surrounding area and employ a part time nurse to help the group provide an outstanding level of care for patients in the area.
All other members of the group volunteer their services to keep expenses to a minimum and new members are always sought.

Motor Neurone Disease can strike anyone, anywhere, at any time. It afflicts people from all walks of life and of both sexes.
Allthough normally diagnosed from the age of 40, there is no common denominator and it is completely random in its choice of sufferers.
